The most common Irish dance tune, fast and flowing in 4/4 time.

The reel is the workhorse of Irish traditional music: a quick tune in 4/4 time, likely borrowed from Scotland in the 18th century and made thoroughly Irish. Reels make up the largest share of the session repertoire.
