Mo Theaghlach: My Family

Who is in the house, and who is the quietest of them.

Tá mé i mo chónaí i dteach beag.
I live in a small house.

Tá mo Mham agus mo Dhaid anseo.
My Mam and my Dad are here.

Tá deirfiúr amháin agam.
I have one sister.

Síle is ainm di.
Síle is her name.

Tá sí seacht mbliana d'aois.
She is seven years old.

Tá deartháir agam freisin.
I have a brother too.

Tomás is ainm dó.
Tomás is his name.

Tá sé an-chainteach.
He is very talkative.

Tá cat againn agus madra.
We have a cat and a dog.

Is maith liom mo theaghlach.
I like my family.

Ach is é an cat an duine is ciúine sa teach.
But the cat is the quietest one in the house.

A note on this one

Irish has no single word for "yes". Where English answers yes or no, Irish answers with the verb from the question itself, which is why An bhfuil deirfiúr agat? is answered Tá or Níl.
