The Nemedians (Muintir Neimhidh)

The third wave, descendants of Nemed, who faced hardship and eventually scattered.

The Nemedians were the next to arrive, led by Nemed ("Holy" or "Privileged"). Like those before them, they worked to shape the land, clearing twelve plains and witnessing the eruption of four lakes. They established strongholds and won several battles against the Fomorians.

However, after Nemed died of a plague, the Fomorians enslaved his people. They imposed a crushing tax: every Samhain, the Nemedians had to deliver two-thirds of their children, corn, and milk to the Fomorian tower on Tory Island.

Desperate, the Nemedians rose up and attacked the tower. They killed the Fomorian king, Conand, but a massive sea wave swept in, drowning nearly everyone on both sides. The handful of Nemedian survivors scattered to the corners of the earth. Some went north to become the Tuatha Dé Danann, while others went to Greece to become the ancestors of the Fir Bolg.
