The Session (An Seisiún)

The informal pub gathering where trad music lives and breathes.

The 'session' (seisiún) is an informal gathering, usually in a pub, where musicians play tunes together for the love of it. Its unwritten etiquette (sharing tunes, following the lead, leaving space) keeps the living tradition passing from player to player.
