• An ólfaidh tú cupán tae? — Will you have a cup of tea? Literally “will you drink” — Irish drinks tea, it doesn't have it.
• Ní ólfaidh, go raibh maith agat. — No thanks. Irish has no word for “no” — you answer with the verb, negated.
• Ara, ólfaidh. — Ah, you will. “Ara” is pure spoken Irish — a shrug in one syllable.
• Nach ndúirt mé leat? — Didn't I tell you? Worth memorising whole.
