Tír na nÓg (Tír na nÓg)

The Land of Youth, a supernatural realm where no one ages or dies.

Tír na nÓg ("The Land of Youth") is one of the most famous of the Otherworlds in Irish mythology. It is a place of eternal youth, beauty, health, and joy, located beyond the western sea.

The most famous story involves Oisín, the son of Fionn mac Cumhaill. He fell in love with Niamh Cinn Óir (Niamh of the Golden Hair), a princess of Tír na nÓg, and went with her to the magical land on a white horse. He lived there for what felt like three years, but in Ireland, 300 years had passed.

When Oisín returned to Ireland to visit, he was warned never to touch the ground. However, while helping some men move a heavy stone, he fell from his horse. The moment he touched the Irish soil, the years caught up with him, and he instantly transformed into a withered old man, dying soon after telling his story to St. Patrick.
